Whole Grains and Diabetes

Data showed that women who ate most whole grains ad a 38 percent lower risk of developing diabetes? When researchers compared the relationship between the ratio of refined to whole grains in diabetic they found that women with the highest refined-grain intake and lowest whole grain intake had a 57 percent greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes (American Journal of Public Health, 2000).
