Advice from your TNT Participants

In the past sessions, I have asked specific participants any advice they have to give to new participants. Here is one I wanted to share with you!

Hey Shelby,  so here is the advice I think I would give: ·       Trust Shelby, trust the process.  The pounds might not come off quickly or consistently, but they really do come off!  Trust Shelby's expertise and experience, be patient, and do what she says and it will happen.
 ·       Emphasis on the patience...you'll go through phases where you plateau, where you might put on a pound or two of water weight, where you'll be extremely cranky, where you'll be ravenous...but just ride out the storm.  "This too shall pass," and your amazing body will adjust and thrive as it acclimates to being properly fueled.
 ·       Make your cheat meal a production.  Like really make it a big deal.  For example, I'm thinking all week about what I'm going to be eating on Friday night while I watch some show or movie or something, and I get super stoked.  It also helps keep you honest during the week because I can think, "Only 3 more days til Chipotle!"  "Tomorrow I get pizza!"  And then when you finally get to indulge, it tastes all the sweeter.
 ·       Don't let slip ups get you down.  It's not the end of the world!  Keep up your cardio, if you can, and just start over the next day.  All is not lost, you did not sabotage yourself for life.

And here is one more for you!!!
My advise is to not give up. Keep going, it is hard at times to see the finish line. Well I don't think there is a finish line, but the line of where you want to be and then you have to maintain.  I have been dieting for years. I have tried everything from pills, shakes, Weight Watchers. But after I would say three months, I would get tired of what I was doing. Yes, I would lose weight, but then gain it once I got off of whatever it was it I doing at that time and gained my lost weight and then some.

With this Nutrition Program, I have not gotten tired. Because I can choose what I want to eat, it is easier because I am not counting points, taking pills. Its healthy. I have learned how to be better when going out to dinner. I still go to fast food restaurants, but I am aware of what I am buying and putting in my mouth.

I love the fact that people in the office always tell me, girl every time I see you you are eating. My husband said to me once, I woke up and from the corner of my eye I saw you eating, then you ate breakfast with me, later I see you eating fruit and now you are having lunch. All you do is eat woman. We both laughed.

I don't think of what I am doing as a diet, I say its a change in life style. I am eating better and exercising more. I know that I get frustrated with the scale at times, but I do see the change in my body and so do other people. I guess I watch too many shows where people say oh I lost 10 pounds in one week that I want that.

I am trying to get my daughter into working out, because she is also over weight, but I can't get through to her. I wish I could help her. Hopefully she will take me up on my offers one day.

With all this said, I love your nutrition program. I think over all it has helped me tremendously to lose weight. I still have a long way to go, but I will keep doing it. I will have my bad day once in a blue moon, but they are only bad day not days in a row. I don't ever thing oh well the week is shot, I will start again at the beginning of the month. Nope, I always say tomorrow, I will make sure that I don't mess up.
